User Account Management

Cosmos allows users to login with their email, or with the Google account or Microsoft account.  It also has four built-in user “roles.”  Roles determine what users are allowed to do on the website. Cosmos also allows users to use multi-factor authentication for improved security.

Getting Started

“Out of the box” Cosmos is enabled to allow users to creating their accounts using their email address. The first user account is automatically created as an “administrator.”  All other go through the following process.

Create an Account

When a new user opens the editor, they will see the login-dialog.  To create a user account, click the “Create Account” button.

The next screen asks for the user to enter their email address, plus enter a new password.  Also click the “Check here” checkbox to indicate you have read and agree to our terms of service and user guidelines.  When done click “Create account.”

Then the user will see this screen indicating a confirmation email has been sent.

Email Confirmation

The user will receive an email like this that asked them to click the button “Confirm Email Address.”

After clicking on the link in the email, the user will see this web page.

The user will also receive this email indicating an administrator needs to grant them permissions to use the website.

A user will see the web page below if that person tries to log into Cosmos before an administrator has granted access.
